Info: Rick Campbell has been a Stark County resident for over 37 years. He attended Jackson Elementary, St. Mary's Elementary and Jackson High School. Rick attended the University of Akron where he received a B.S. in Technical Education and an Associates of Applied Science in Legal Assisting. Rick and his wife Lisa have six children: Connor, Sammi, Emma, Brady, Meg & Whitney. Rick served his Country in the U.S. Navy during the Iran/Iraq war and also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Rick has been employed as a Civil Division Supervisor with Johnnie Maier, Massillon Clerk of Court. He has held Bailiff positions with the Massillon Municipal Court, Judge Edward Elum, and Stark County Common Pleas Court, Judge James Gwin. Rick was certified by the state of Ohio as a peace officer and commissioned as a Special Deputy Sheriff during his time as a Bailiff for the Common Pleas Court. He also held the position of Title Assistant with Certified Title Agency Inc. and Docket Clerk with Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs. Rick was elected to the position of Jackson Township Trustee in 1997 at the age of 29 and served from January 1998 until December 2000. In 2000 Rick was elected by the Parishioners of St. Mary's of Massillon to serve on Parish Council. Rick is a member of the Massillon Knights of Columbus, the National Association of Clerks and Recorders, Ohio Recorders Association, the Jefferson-Jackson Club, the Western Stark County Democratic Club, the Jackson High Alumni Association and the Fraternal Order of Police Associates of Ohio. Rick sits on the Ohio Recorder's Association - Legislative Committee, Canton Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Stark County - Citizenship Day Committee, the Stark County Democratic Executive Committee, the Stark County Records Commission, the Stark County Microfilm Board and the Stark County Data Board. Currently Rick holds the position of Stark County Recorder. He was elected to this post in November of 2000 and again in 2004. Rick was one of the youngest officials to be elected to a county post at the age of 32. Rick believes to be elected, by his fellow citizens, is one of the highest honors that could be bestowed upon him.
