Kim R. Perez, C.M.F.O, is in his first term as Stark County Auditor. As Auditor, he serves as the Chief Fiscal Officer, Chief Assessor, and Chief Payroll Officer of the County, while leading 14 departments with around 100 employees. During his short time in office, Mr. Perez has implemented major changes in policies and procedures in all areas. These changes emphasize equity and fairness for all citizens under State of Ohio law. He is also taking the necessary steps to revolutionize the office with technology for greater accuracy and more efficiency, saving vital tax dollars.

Before being elected Stark County Auditor, Mr. Perez served as Canton City Auditor for 10 years. As Canton City Auditor, he was able to completely modernize and streamline operations with the use of new technology to create an office that was one of the most efficient in the state. Prior to serving as City Auditor, Perez was a member of the USWA Local 1200 and a supervisor at Republic Steel. He also served on Canton City Council as Councilman for Ward 1 from 1988 to 1994.

Being a Certified Municipal Finance Officer, Auditor Perez has a strong knowledge in public finance and is a member of a variety of civic and finance related organizations. Perez was born in Canton, is a life-long resident of Stark County, and graduated from Oakwood High School. He is married with three children and two grandchildren.
